Hi! I’m in grade 11 and I am a really skinny boy. I’m 6″0 and 135 pounds, very underweighted for an athlete. So, I started working out since grade 10 but I don’t seem to gain much weight or get stronger. I did slightly but i’m not satisfied. I’m pretty sure it’s because of my diet, since i was young people told me that I don’t eat much and I read an article that said protein powders are recommended for people that don’t eat much. Plus one of my friend who was stuck at 140 lbs now he gained like 20 or some pounds and he’s really jacked(he also takes crotein or something but I don’t want to go too much depth right now lol) so that was basically my life lol and here are my questions:
1. Are protein powders safe? I heard some of them have steroids in them(someone told me), if they are what are some really famous brands that i can eat with trust?
2. Are they only useful after the work outs? or are they good just like in the morning or after supper kinda thing? oh and are they good after like fitness training?(not lifts just running)
